In Loving Memory of Michael Bailey

Written by Andrew Powell

While on a pilgrimage, Michael’s sudden and unforeseen passing has been a deeply shocking and profound loss to accept. In the midst of lively conversations, shared insights, preparations, and training, Michael had become a cherished part of our team. He was preparing to lead retreat experiences, join us on a new journey, and embody the essence of our shared mission. These recent months brimmed with hope, excitement, and a certain, quiet charm.

My dear friend and colleague, Michael, was a man of boundless curiosity and sensitivity. He faced life's challenges with resilience and always greeted us with a warm hello, genuine interest, and heartfelt attention to everyone’s stories. Insightful, perceptive, and profoundly kind, Michael was a complex yet gentle soul who brought a unique depth to our lives. In this past year, I witnessed him truly happy as he explored new paths, embraced love, and awakened to the true calling of his soul.

I am deeply grateful for the time we shared and will forever miss our thoughtful conversations, his kindness, and his unshakable pragmatic support. But most of all, I will miss his ready smile and caring hugs.

Though our anticipation of working together stops now, my team and I are held together in the warmth of his memory and his enduring light. We find strength in our faith, and comfort in knowing that the love we shared remains intricately woven, unbroken, and eternal.
